Kairos: Storytelling Workshop

How to find and tell the story of God in your life.

Stories. We all have them, but how many times have we started telling someone about a transformative moment in our lives, only to find it leaving our mouths as an unengaging set of ramblings? Instead of sharing in our excitement, they hold back a yawn and change the subject. Bummer!

Jesus knew how to tell an effective story. He used stories to share with people what life was like in God's kingdom. As followers of Jesus, we too are called to be people of story by effectively sharing our own stories of encounter and transformation - whether big or small.

Because we want to grow in this set of skills, we are offering a three-hour workshop on how to find and tell the story of God in your life.

The goal of our time together is to:

• Be a part of a learning community, with the goal of exalting Jesus by improving our ability to winsomely communicate his activity in our lives

• Be able to confidently identify God moments in your life by using three new tools

• Be confident in knowing you have a story to tell by learning what differentiates great stories from boring ramblings

• Know that you won’t bore someone because you’ve learned six ways to keep listeners’ attention.

Jonathan Kenerson of Imago Dei will provide teaching and space to develop and practice telling stories of God in our everyday lives. Material is based off the book “Storyworthy” by Matthew Dicks.

Light refreshments provided.

** this event will be followed by a storytelling evening event on Saturday, June 1. Stay tuned for more details.
